Claudio Deiana is an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Cagliari (Italy).

He earned his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Essex in 2017. Until 2018, he worked as a Research Economist at the Competence Centre for Microeconomic Evaluation of the European Commission's Joint Research Centre (Italy). He is also Research Fellow at the HEDG network. His research interests are in Risky Behaviours, Migration Economics, Crime Economics, and Public Economics.

Claudio joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in April 2023.
