Research Fellow

Elie Murard is an Assistant Professor in Economics at the University of Trento.

From October 2015 until September 2019 he worked at IZA as an Research Associate. He received his PhD in economics from the Paris School of Economics in December 2015. Prior to this, he also worked for the World bank as a short term consultant within the Development Prospects Group.

His research interests are in International Migration, Development Economics and Labor Economics more generally. He is particularly interested in understanding the effects of migration on the countries of origin, and especially on the families of migrants left behind.

Recent publications include "How does migration affect individual attitudes towards redistribution ? Empirical evidence across European countries." with Facchini G., Mayda A. in: Handbook on Migration and Social Policy, Edward Elgar Publishing (2016).
