Britta Gehrke is professor of macroeconomics at Freie Universität Berlin. She is further affiliated with the Institute for Employment Research (IAB). Before, she was professor at the University of Rostock and assistant professor at the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) and the IAB. She holds a doctoral degree from the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg. She obtained her diploma in economics from the University of Kiel focusing on econometrics and statistics.

Her research interests are applied macroeconomics and macroeconometrics, focusing on questions related to the labor market, labor market policies, business cycles, and fiscal and monetary policy.

Britta Gehrke joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in March 2018 and became a Research Fellow in December 2023.
