Alessio Moro is a Professor of Economics at the University of Cagliari and a Research Fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR).

He received his Ph.D. in Economics from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid in 2009. His research focuses on macroeconomics, with a specific interest in structural change, economic growth, and the evolution of the service sector.

He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in March 2026.
