Eugenio Zucchelli is a Health Economist and applied microeconometrician with broad expertise in the economics of health and human capital, and over 15 years of experience across academia, consultancy, and policy-relevant research.

He currently serves as Director, Value in Evidence at AESARA, where he provides scientific leadership on real-world evidence, causal inference, and advanced quantitative methods to inform healthcare strategy and decision-making.

He was previously a tenured Associate Professor of Economics (currently on leave) at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and Senior Lecturer at Lancaster University (UK), following a post-doctoral fellowship at the Centre for Health Economics, University of York

Alongside his industry role, he remains actively engaged in academia as an Adjunct Professor at IE University, Visiting Researcher at Lancaster University, Research Fellow at IZA, and Associate Editor of Value in Health Regional Issues (ISPOR).

He has held visiting positions at institutions including CEMFI, Carlos III, Universitat de Barcelona, Monash University, Curtin University, University of Toronto, and the University of Southern Denmark.

He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of York (UK).

Eugenio Zucchelli joined IZA as a Research Fellow in November 2018.
