Rafael Sánchez received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Warwick in 2013.
He is currently an Assistant Professor at CUNEF Universidad in Madrid, Spain. In 2024, he also held a position as Assistant Professor at the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain. Between 2020 and 2024, he served as Director of the Master of Public Policy (MPP) and Head of Research at the Facultad de Administración y Economía (FAE) at Universidad Diego Portales in Chile.
Prior to this, he was a Senior Researcher at the Centro de Estudios Públicos in Santiago, Chile, starting in August 2020. He previously spent four years as an Assistant Professor at the Adolfo Ibáñez University Business School and two years as Head of Labor Markets at the Chilean Ministry of Finance.
His research focuses on mental health and labor markets, early childhood development, labor market monopsony, and the unintended consequences of labor market regulation.
Rafael Sánchez has been a Research Fellow since November 2020.
