Clémentine Van Effenterre
Clémentine Van Effenterre
Research Fellow

Clémentine Van Effenterre is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Toronto. Previously, she was a WAPPP Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School. She received her Ph.D. in September 2017 at the Paris School of Economics under the supervision of Pr. Thomas Piketty.

Clémentine’s main areas of interest include labor, education, and empirical political economy. Her research includes both theoretical and empirical analysis on different topics including the impact of institutional constraints on maternal labor supply, the gender gap in science, the effect of offspring’s gender on parental political beliefs and gender gaps in the tech industry.

She joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in June 2016.
