Anica Kramer is a Professor of Economics at the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt, Germany. She is also a Research Fellow at RWI – Leibniz Institute for Economic Research.

Her research focuses on applied microeconomics, covering topics in labor, health, and regional economics, as well as their intersections.

Previously, she held positions at the Technical University of Dresden, the Central Institute for Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (Zi) in Berlin, the University of Bamberg, and the Institute for Employment Research (IAB) in Nuremberg.

She received her PhD in economics from Ruhr University Bochum (Ruhr Graduate School in Economics) in 2018. During her doctoral and postdoctoral studies, she conducted international research stays at Rutgers University (USA), the University of Sydney, and the University of Wollongong (Australia). Previously, she studied economics and social sciences at the University of Erfurt, and international economics at the University of Göttingen, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium), and the Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics (India).

Anica Kramer became a Research Affiliate in October 2018 and IZA Research Fellow in December 2023.
