Client: Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA), Dortmund

Project partners: DIW Berlin; Evaluation Office Caliendo & Partner

Duration: 01.02.2017 – 31.01.2018

This project will analyze the labor market effects of the statutory minimum wage introduced in Germany on January 1, 2015. The objective is to estimate the causal impact of the minimum wage on changes in the number of jobs, average working hours, and unemployment. The report will be based on a number of individual datasets, including official employment statistics, the IAB Establishment Panel, the German Socio-economic Panel, and the Structure of Earnings Survey. These data are analyzed using statistical methods of program evaluation.
