Michael Svarer is Professor at the School of Economics and Management at Aarhus University and is a core member of Centre for Applied Microeconometrics at University of Copenhagen. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Aarhus in 2001. Among others, Michael Svarer has published in Economic Journal, Journal of Human Resources, Journal of Public Economics, Journal of Population Economics, Journal of Urban Economics, Economics Letters and Labour Economics. His current research interests includes; labour economics, economics of the family, and health economics.

He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in May 2007.
