Rafael Sánchez received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Warwick in 2013.

Currently Rafael is an Assistant Professor at CUNEF Universidad in Madrid, Spain. During 2024 he was an Assistant Professor at Univerasidad Internacional de Cataluña, Barcelona, Spain. Between 2020-2024 Rafael has been the Director of the Master of Public Policy (MPP) and also the head of research of the Facultad de Administración y Economía (FAE) of Universidad Diego Portales in Chile.

Previously, he has been Senior Researcher at the Centro de Estudios Públicos in Santiago, Chile since August 2020, after working for 4 years as Assistant Professor at the Adolfo Ibáñez University Business School and 2 years as Head of Labor Markets at the Ministry of Finance in Chile.

Rafael’s research focuses on mental health and labor markets, early child development, labor market monopsony and the unintended consequences of labor market regulation.

Rafael Sánchez became a Research Fellow in November 2020.
