Professor of Economics, and the Head of Graduate Studies, at the International School of Economics, Tbilisi State University. Adj. Professor of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University.
Professor Asali holds a Ph.D. in economics from Columbia University; an MA in economics, and a BA in economics and accounting from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
He served as a visiting assistant professor at Union College, and an adj. assistant professor at New York University. His teaching and research interests include applied microeconomics, labor economics, econometrics, and time series econometrics.

He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in August 2014.
