Markus Frölich

Markus Frölich is Full Professor of Econometrics at the University of Mannheim. He was Program Director for "Employment and Development" at IZA from 2008 until 2011.

He is Associate Editor of the Journal of Business and Economic Statistics (JBES), Co-Editor of Labour Economics and Associate Editor of Empirical Economics.

He has published in the Economic Journal, Journal of American Statistical Association, Journal of Econometrics, Journal of Royal Statistical Society, Journal of Applied Econometrics, Review of Economics and Statistics, among others.

From 1995 to 1998 he studied Economics in Konstanz and obtained his Ph.D. from St. Gallen in October 2002 (Thesis 'Programme Evaluation and Treatment Choice'). After visiting the University College London as a Marie Curie Individual Fellow, he served for several years as Assistant Professor at the University of St.Gallen. Since 2008 he is Professor of Econometrics at the University of Mannheim.

He is further affiliated with the Swiss Institute for Empirical Economic Research (SEW), St.Gallen, and the Institute for Labour Market Policy Evaluation (IFAU), Uppsala.

His research interests include policy evaluation, microeconometrics, labor economics and development economics.
