Currently he is working at Universidad Andrés Bello, as an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Economic and Business
His research focuses on modelling and studying empirically problems related to human capital and the labor market. His doctoral thesis studied the impact of immigration on human capital accumulation, and more recent works have studied gender gaps in the labor market, early human capital accumulation and parental investment, and the transition between secondary and tertiary education.

In these papers he attempts to use models to understand underlying mechanisms, and he uses empirical method to contrast many potential competing hypothesis, with both the data, and simulated data.
