Álmos Telegdy is Senior Research Associate of the National Bank of Hungary. He received his PhD from the Budapest University of Economic Sciences.

His research focuses on the effects of state and foreign ownership on firm performance, employment and wages, public sector labor markets, and the effects of firm subsidies. His research was published in refereed scholarly journals and numerous chapters in edited volumes.

Telegdy is Recurrent Visiting Associate Professor at the Central European University where he teaches Labor Economics and Corporate Governance. His policy experience includes consulting with the European Employment Observatory, the World Bank, USAID and the Hungarian Ministry of Labor.


He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in January 2008.
