Peter Savelyev is an Assistant Professor in Economics at The College of William and Mary, USA. His primary research interests are in the field of health economics and the emerging fields of the economics of human development and the economics of personality.
In his recent papers, he investigates how cognitive skills, socioemotional skills, and educational investments shape health and longevity outcomes over the life cycle and how parents allocate resources among their children. Prior to coming to The College of William and Mary, he worked at Vanderbilt University.
Savelyev received a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Chicago in June 2011. He joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in March 2016 and became an IZA Fellow in November 2021.
