Hector Sala obtained Ph.D. in Economics at the Departament d'Economia Aplicada, UAB, in 2000. He currently holds a position of Associate Professor at the Departament d'Economia Aplicada (UAB).

His main field of interest is in the macroeconomics of labor market analysis. His work involves time series analysis and the estimation of structural models to study the dynamics of employment and unemployment and the Phillips Curve trade-off.

He joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in February 2000 and became a Research Fellow in March 2004.
