Sebastian Gallegos is an Assistant Professor of Economics at UAI’s Business School, Chile, and a member of the University of Chicago Human Capital and Economic Opportunity Global Working Group, led by James Heckman (hceconomics.uchicago.edu)

His work uses economic models, field experiments and administrative data to study behavioral and human capital topics. Professor Gallegos holds a PhD from The University of Chicago Harris School, with a field specialization in Microeconometrics. He also was a Postdoctoral Scholar and Lecturer at Princeton University, with the Department of Economics, and a Research Economist at the Inter-American Development Bank in Washington, DC.

Dr. Gallegos is a Research Fellow at IZA; an academic collaborator at the University of Chicago Behavioral Insights Lab; a Research Fellow at the IDB Behavioral Economics Working Group and he is on the Scientific Committee of the new Behavioral Insights Network (BRAIN) at the Latin American and Caribbean Economic Association (LACEA), among other affiliations.
