Johanna Rickne is Professor of Economics at the Swedish Institute for Social Research (SOFI) at Stockholm University. Her research combines labor economics, political economics, and gender economics, with a particular focus on representation, workplace inequality, and political selection. Using large-scale administrative and survey data, she has published widely in leading journals including the American Economic Review, the Quarterly Journal of Economics, and the American Political Science Review. Rickne’s recent work examines gender inequality in labor markets and politics, including sexual harassment, political careers, and the determinants of meaningful work.
