Gary Charness specializes in experimental and behavioral research, conducting both laboratory and field experiments to investigate a wide variety of economic and social environments. He has published his research in many journals, including Econometrica, American Economic Review, Quarterly Journal of Economics, Journal of Economic Theory, Games and Economic Behavior, and Management Science. He received his B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Michigan, and his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley. He is currently on the board of six journals (American Economic Review, Management Science, Games and Economic Behavior, Journal of the European Economic Association, Experimental Economics, and Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization).
He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in 2011.
