Brahim Boudarbat is a full professor in the School of Industrial Relations at the University of Montreal. He earned a Ph.D. in Economics in 2004 from the University of Montreal. He was granted a scholarship jointly from the World Bank and Japan during his Ph.D. program. His main fields of interest are economics of immigration, economics of education, labor economics and applied econometrics. His thesis “Essays on Employment Sector and Education Choices” consists of three studies focusing on the determinants of employment sector and field of study choices. The studies specifically focus on the effects of labour markets variables (earnings and unemployment duration) on those choices using data from the Moroccan Labour Force Survey and the Canadian Survey of Graduates.
Between July 2003 and July 2004, Brahim was a post-doctoral and teaching fellow in the Department of Economics at the University of British Columbia. He published several papers on immigration, human capital in Canada, and labor markets in Morocco. He also has made presentations at several academic conferences.

Brahim joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in February 2004 and became a Research Fellow in March 2009.
