Andreas Roider is professor of economics at the University of Regensburg. He studied economics at the University of Tübingen, the University of Texas at Austin, and the University of Bonn, where he received a degree as Diplom-Volkswirt in 1998. Subsequently, he entered the Bonn Graduate School of Economics and the European Doctoral Program (EDP) and received his PhD in June 2003. From 2003 till 2008 he was assistant professor at the University of Bonn. Andreas spent the academic year 1999-2000 at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), and the academic year 2004-2005 at Stanford Graduate School of Business. From 2008 till 2012 he was professor of economics at the University of Heidelberg. His research interests are in the theory of economic incentives, institutional economics, behavioral economics, and applications to industrial organization, finance, law and economics, labor economics, and political economy.

He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in July 2004.
