Ingo Isphording obtained his Ph.D. from Ruhr University Bochum in 2013. His main research interests are in education and labor economics, with special emphasis on the role of social interactions and comparisons in determining performance and labor market outcomes. His former work has dealt extensively with the language acquisition of immigrants and the role of language skills in the labor market.
Ingo has joined the IZA network as a Research Affiliate in April 2013. Currently, he is a Senior Research Associate at IZA in Bonn and heads the research team “Skill Formation”. He further acts as a deputy coordinator for IZA’s program area “Economics of Education”. He is an affiliate in the CESifo network.
