Shariq Mohammed is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Northeastern University.

He completed his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Arizona in 2018. Afterwards, he was a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Michigan until 2021, where he worked on the Longitudinal, Intergenerational Family Electronic Micro-Database Project (LIFE-M), which is publicly available on openICPSR.

His research spans labor economics, economic history, and development economics. His research focuses on understanding the intricate dimensions of inequality, mobility, and discrimination in both the United States and India, with a strong emphasis on policy implications.
