Adrian Nieto Castro

Adrian Nieto is a Post-doctoral researcher at the Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research and a Visiting Research Fellow at the London School of Economics. In 2024, he will be visiting the University of California – San Diego, and in 2022, he was a Visiting Scholar at the University of California – Santa Barbara. Adrian is a Research Affiliate at IZA and at the University of Nottingham, where he obtained a Ph.D. in Economics by the end of 2019. During his Ph.D., he visited the Research Department of the Bank of Spain during 2016-2017. Prior to his Ph.D. studies, he obtained a M.Sc. in Economics from the London School of Economics.

His main research interests lie in labor economics, with particular emphasis on how new technologies impact the labor market and society, gender inequality, and understanding the link between the environment and the labor market. His research has been published in the Journal of Human Resources, the Journal of Health Economics, the Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization, and Labour Economics.

He is also the principal investigator of an important FNR research grant for the project “The Implications of Temperature for Social Interactions, Work Organization and Well-Being”.

He became an IZA Research Affiliate in May 2023.
