Mayra Pineda-Torres is an Assistant Professor in the School of Economics at the Georgia Institute of Technology. She received her Ph.D. in Economics from Texas A&M University in May 2022.

Mayra is an applied microeconomist who uses quasi-experimental methods and non-experimental data to explore issues affecting women's and teenager's welfare. Her research interests lie at the intersection of health economics, labor economics, and gender economics. In her body of work, she studies the demographic, health, and economic impacts of access to reproductive healthcare. She is also interested in exploring issues related to access to healthcare for underserved populations.
