Will Dobbie is a Professor of Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School and a Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research. His research focuses broadly on the causes and consequences of poverty in the U.S. His recent work has examined the consequences of racial bias and discrimination in the criminal justice system, and what we can do about it. He is a recipient of an Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellowship, as well as the Jonathan Edwards Bicentennial Preceptorship at Princeton University. Other honors include the W.E. Upjohn Institute Award for the best dissertation on employment and the Distinguished CESifo Affiliate Award.

He joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in August 2016 and became an IZA Research Fellow in November 2021.
