Juliane is an Acting Professor of Empirical Microeconomics (Vertretungsprofessorin) at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg in Germany since October 2025 as well as a Postdoctoral Researcher (on leave) at Otto von Guericke University (OvGU) Magdeburg since October 2021. Before she joined OvGU, she spend two years as a Research Fellow at NZWRI in New Zealand. She completed her PhD in Economics at Freie Universität Berlin, Germany, in July 2019 within the Berlin Doctoral Program in Economics and Management Science (BDPEMS).
She is an Applied Microeconomist whos research lies at the intersections of labor, family, crime, and health economics. Juliane studies how institutional and contextual factors shape individual behavior and well-being.
