Felix Poege

Felix Poege is an Assistant Professor at Bocconi University's Management and Technology Department (since 2023). Previously, he was a Postdoctoral Associate at the Technology & Policy Research Initiative, Boston University. In his research, he studies the innovation strategy of firms under competition. This touches upon topics in strategic management and the economics of innovation, interlinked with topics in industrial organization, science, and human capital. In current work, he is studying how the breakup of world-leading chemical company IG Farben influenced competitive structure and innovation in post-war Germany.

Felix received his doctorate in Economics from LMU Munich, Germany. During his doctoral studies, he worked at the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition. He received his Master of Science in Economics from the University of Bonn in 2016. Felix first joined IZA as a student assistant in October 2013. He became a Research Affiliate in September 2017 and a Research Fellow in December 2023.
