Conny Wunsch is Professor of Labour Economics at the University of Basel. Until August 2013 she was Associate Professor at the VU University Amsterdam and VENI laureate of the Dutch National Science Foundation. After obtaining her Ph.D. from the University of St. Gallen in 2008 she worked as Assistant Professor at the University of St. Gallen and as postdoctoral fellow at the Swiss Institute for Empirical Economic Research. Her main research interests are in the area of labour economics, in particular the evaluation and optimal design of policies targeted at the unemployed. She is also interested in the implications of the demographic change for the labour market.

She joined IZA as a Research Fellow in February 2010.
