Giulio Zanella is Professor of economics at the University of Adelaide, Australia, since July 2018.
His research interests span labor economics, social economics, applied econometrics, and macroeconomics. Before joining the University of Adelaide, he was Assistant professor of economics at the University of Siena, Italy (2005-2009), Visiting assistant professor of Economics at the University of California-Santa Barbara (2009), and Associate professor of Economics at the University of Bologna, Italy (2010-June 2018).
He received a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Siena (2004), and a MSc in Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (2005), where he was first visiting researcher (2002-2003) and then graduate student (2004-2005)
Giulio joined IZA as a Research Fellow in November 2016.
