Shoshana Amyra Grossbard is a resident scholar in the Economics department and the Center for Health Economics and Policy Studies at San Diego State University, founding editor of Review of Economics of the Household published by Springer since 2003, past Fellow at the Center for Advanced Studies in the Behavioral Sciences at Stanford, past visiting scholar at Columbia University, and founder and past president of the Society of Economics of the Household. Her research deals with male/female relationships, consumption, work, health, happiness, migration and family violence. Her books include On the Economics of Marriage (Westview Press 1993), the Expansion of Economics (M.E. Sharpe, 2002), Marriage and the Economy (Cambridge University Press, 2003), and The Marriage Motive (Springer, 2015). Dr Grossbard has authored more than 80 journal articles and book chapters, including some published in the Journal of Political Economy, the American Economic Review, and the Economic Journal. She ranks among the top 10% of tweeting economists. She obtained her PHD from the University of Chicago and joined IZA as a Research Fellow in October 2006.
