R. Jisung Park is an Assistant Professor in the department of Public Policy at UCLA. He received his PhD in economics at Harvard University, and Master’s degrees in Environmental Change and Management (MSc) and Development Economics (MSc) at Oxford University, where he was a Rhodes Scholar.

He is interested broadly in the interplay between the natural environment and human economic systems. He is particularly interested in the labor and human capital impacts of extreme heat, the process of climate adaptation, and the consequences of climate change for economic inequality.

Most of his work is motivated by a longstanding interest in informing public policy, especially policies that aim to correct environmental market failures and to enhance economic mobility for vulnerable populations.

Jisung Park joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in December 2020.
