Born in 1936. Since 1975 Professor of Econometrics at the University of Torino. Founder and Director of the LABORatorio R. Revelli, Centre for Employment Studies, Moncalieri. Member of the Board of Directors of the National Statistical Institute (ISTAT), Rome.

He studied economics and operations research at the Università Bocconi in Milano. Ph.D. in Economics from Carnegie Institute of Technology, Pittsburgh, Pa. in 1966. Assistant Professor at the University of California, Berkeley, 1965-68; Visiting Scholar at the Fondazione L. Einaudi, Torino, 1968-70; Professore Incaricato, Univ. of Torino, 1971-75.

Visiting Professor, University of California - Berkeley (USA) 1979-80 and 1980-81; Tel-Aviv University, Economics Department, Spring 1992; London School of Economics, C.E.P. Fall 1995; Princeton University, Industrial Relations Section, Spring 2000.

Teaching areas: econometrics, applied economics, industrial organization, labour economics, microeconomics.

His book "Imprese, Occupazione e Retribuzioni al Microscopio" (with R. Revelli) was awarded the Saint Vincent Prize in Economics, 1993.

Winner of the E. Tarantelli Prize for Scientific Research in Labor Economics, First Edition 1997.
