Elaine M. Liu

Elaine M. Liu is a Professor of Economics at the University of Houston. She received her B.A. from Wellesley College and her Ph.D. in Economics from Princeton University. Professor Liu’s research lies at the intersection of the fields of development economics, health economics, labor economics, and behavioral economics. Her works have been published in venues including the Review of Economic Studies, Review of Economics and Statistics, Proceedings of National Academy of Sciences. She is an associate editor of the Journal of Health Economics and the Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization.
She joined IZA as a Research Fellow in August 2013.
