Kriechel Ben Kriechel is researcher at the Research Centre for Education and the Labour Market (ROA). He has been project leader for several labour market research projects both nationally and internationally. Ben Kriechel is involved in the national skills-forecasts for the Netherlands, and participates in a European Network for skills forecasting. He has taught courses on Personnel Economics, Health Economics and Research Methodology. Ben Kriechel graduated ('cum laude') from Maastricht University, where he also obtained his PhD. His Ph.D. research focused on large scale displacement of workers combining firm-level and survey data. He has been visiting Brandeis University, the NORC at the University of Chicago, and the IZA in Bonn. Ben Kriechel has worked on topics in personnel economics, worker displacement, labour mobility and manpower forecasting. His work has appeared in the Journal of Population Economics, Economics of Innovation and New Technology, Education Economics, and the Portuguese Journal of Economics.

He joined IZA as a Research Affiliate and became a Research Fellow in May 2004. He stayed at IZA as a Visiting Research Fellow from May until October 2008.
