Bargain Prior to joining University College Dublin in October 2006, Olivier Bargain was a Research Associate at IZA since September 2004. He received his Ph.D. from DELTA, Paris, and a French ‘Grandes Ecoles’ diploma in business administration at ESCP-EAP.

His research covers subjects in public economics, labor economics and econometrics, with a particular interest in modeling of the family (unitary and collective models), child poverty, optimal taxation, labor supply and the efficiency-equity analyses of tax-benefit systems. He has developed microsimulation models for France (SYSIFF), Poland (SIMPL) and is an active member of the EUROMOD consortium (simulation of European tax-benefit systems).
Olivier has published in the Journal of Population Economics, the Journal of Economic Inequality, the Review of Income and Wealth, Labour Economics and the Review of Economics of the Household. He has been co-editor of the book series Research in Labor Economics.
