Pierre Cahuc

Cahuc Pierre Cahuc is professor of Economics at Ecole Polytechnique. He is director of the Macroeconomic Laboratory of ENSAE-CREST, research fellow at CEPR, member of the French Economic Advisory Council to the French Prime Minister (Conseil d'Analyse Economique), member of the French low pay commission (comité d'experts sur le salaire minimum).

Unemployment and the microfoundations of macroeconomics with a special concern for labor market are his main fields of research. His papers are published in the American Economic Review, Econometrica, the Quarterly Journal or Economics, the International Economic Review, the Economic Journal, the European Economic Review, the American Economic Journal: Macroeconomics, the Journal of Public Economics, Economics Letter, the Scandinavian Journal of Economics, the Journal of Labor Economics, Labour Economics, the Review of International Economics, the Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization and other journals.

Pierre Cahuc joined IZA as a Research Fellow in October 1999. Since 2004 he has been IZA Program Director for "Labor Markets and Institutions". He has been appointed editor of the IZA Journal of Labor Economics and editor of the field Labor market and institutions of IZA World of Labor since 2012.
