Alexander Muravyev received his Ph.D. in Economics for his thesis "Three Essays in Applied Microeconometrics" from European University Institute (Florence) in July 2007. Previously, he studied Economics at St. Petersburg State University and Economics and Business Administration at Stockholm University.
His main research interests are in labor economics, economics of transition and applied microeconometrics.
Alexander Muravyev's past positions include: lecturer at the School of Management, St. Petersburg State University (October 1998 – August 2002), economist at Russian-European Centre for Economic Policy in Moscow (November 2000 – October 2002), as well as visiting researcher at Copenhagen Business School (2000) and Bank of Finland Institute of Transition (2002). From June 2006 until October 2008 he worked as a Research Associate at the Department of International Economics of the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin).
He joined IZA as a Research Associate in October 2008 (Senior Research Associate since October 2011) and is Deputy Program Director for "Labor Markets in Emerging and Transition Countries". |
