Henri R. Sneessens
Research Fellow

Sneessens Henri Sneessens is Professor of Economics at the University of Luxembourg and Professeur extraordinaire at the Université catholique de Louvain, Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium.
He studied in Louvain and Princeton, and holds a PhD in Economics from Louvain (1980). He taught at the London School of Economics (1980-1982). He is a member of CREA (Center for Research in Economic Analysis, Luxembourg) and IRES (Louvain). He was chairman of IRES in 1994-98 and 2004-07. He participated in several European research networks (SPES, HCM). His main research interests are economic policies and macroeconomic performance, with a special interest for the theoretical and empirical analysis of labour market adjustment and unemployment persistence (regional adjustment, low-skilled unemployment, labour taxes). He has published in European Economic Review, Economica, Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control, Labour Economics, and other journals.

He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in January 2001.
