Schnepf Sylke Viola Schnepf is a Lecturer in the School of Social Sciences, University of Southampton. She obtained a Master in political sciences, psychology and law in 1999 (Open University Hagen, Germany) and a PhD in Economics in 2005 (University of Hamburg, Germany).

Her main research interests are educational achievement and inequalities, social segregation in schools, gender inequality (especially in Central and Eastern Europe) and determinants of giving to international development organisations. Her latest research interest regards measurement error and non-response bias in sample surveys.

She joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in August 2004 and became a Research Fellow in February 2007.
