Senior Research Associates |
|
Senior Associates will join the core research staff in Bonn. The positions offer a competitive compensation package. Successful candidates are expected to publish their research in top peer-reviewed journals and contribute to the intellectual environment of IZA. The ideal candidate is a senior researcher (about 10 years after having received a PhD), holds a position at a university or research institution and has excellent knowledge of applied labor issues in the areas of program evaluation, development or migration. The appointment is for two years. |

The Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA) is an international research center associated with the University of Bonn producing independent academic research of the highest quality standards. IZA has a special emphasis on, but is not restricted to, policy-relevant labor market topics and has openings for Research Associates starting in fall 2013 (or earlier) Associates will join the core research staff in Bonn. The positions offer a competitive compensation package plus a travel budget. Successful candidates are expected to publish their research in top peer-reviewed journals and contribute to the intellectual environment of IZA. The ideal candidate is a recent Ph.D. (or close to completion) with excellent knowledge of econometrics and applied and policy-oriented labor issues. The appointment is for up to 6 years, initially for 3 years, with possibility of renewal for another 3 years. IZA provides a stimulating research environment with excellent facilities and the opportunity to interact with IZA’s large Research Fellow network. Visiting Research Fellows |
These positions offer the possibility for senior researchers to stay for an initial period of approximately six months to one year. For this purpose, IZA has created the Visiting Research Fellow program. Applicants are expected to closely interact with the IZA staff and network, while maintaining focus on high-quality own research. These slots provide an excellent opportunity to spend one year in an environment devoted to research.
