Pernilla Andersson Joona is an Associate Professor of Economics at the Swedish Institute for Social Research, Stockholm University. She is also affiliated to the Stockholm University Linnaeus Center for Integration Studies (SULCIS). She received her PhD in economics from Stockholm University in October, 2006 and has since published in the Small Business Economics, International Migration Review, Research in Labor Economics, and Journal of Socio-Economics. Her research is focused primarily on self-employment and temporary agency work but also on more general labor market issues relating to opportunities of immigrants.

She joined IZA as a Research Fellow in February 2010.
