About the Workshop

The Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA), the Centre de Recherche en Economie et Statistique (CREST), and the Department of Economics at the University of Bonn are organizing a joint workshop to be held at IZA in Bonn on March 4-5, 2016.
The goal of this workshop is to bring together junior and senior researchers to discuss their recent research on employment policies, heterogeneity in the labor market, and the effect of heterogeneity on policy or the heterogeneity of policy outcomes. We welcome both empirical and theoretical work.
Topics include (but are not limited to):
  • Labor market policy to reduce youth unemployment
  • The effects of flexible working time arrangements and temporary jobs
  • The effects of business cycles on earnings dynamics and worker mobility
  • Sources of the heterogeneity in labor market outcomes
  • Heterogeneous effects of labor market policies

Paper Submission

Researchers interested in participating to the workshop should submit a full paper or an extended abstract by December 11, 2015 using our Online Application Form.
Decision of acceptance or rejection will be announced by January 11, 2016. Complete papers will be due February 5, 2016.
 

Funding

Those authors who are invited to present their papers are expected to participate in the 2-day workshop. Economy class airfares and up to 3 nights of lodging for presenting authors will be covered according to the following Reimbursement Guidelines.


Kindly note that tax regulations prohibit IZA from fully reimbursing the travel expenses of conference participants who combine their trip with other destinations or extend their stay beyond the four-day window surrounding the event.
