About the Workshop |
We are delighted to announce the 10th IZA Annual Migration Meeting (AM2). For a decade now, AM2 has been a well-sought after conference because of its high academic standards, papers on the frontier of the field, renowned keynote speakers, intense opportunities for discussion and debate as well as its memorable social events. In 2013, the 10th AM2 will be combined with the 4th Migration Topic Week (MTW) and will span for one week in a city that is the epitome of migration. We invite submissions of high quality academic work that extends, enriches, refines, and challenges our understanding of the broad array of issues related to migration. Researchers are expected to present their best ongoing cutting-edge work. Following tradition, the conference will be organized in a manner designed to foster interaction and exchange of ideas among the participants in a relaxed atmosphere. The highlight of the AM2 is the Julian Simon Lecture.
The 2013 AM2 Julian Simon Lecture will be delivered by Amelie F. Constant (Temple University, George Washington University and IZA). Additional special lectures will be delivered
by Anne Morrison Piehl (Rutgers University and IZA) and Klaus F. Zimmermann (University of Bonn and IZA).
Those authors who are invited are required to participate in the entire migration topic week conference. The scientific program is scheduled to start on Monday morning, June 3 and will end on Thursday night, June 6. Arrival is scheduled for Sunday afternoon and departure for Friday. If participation in all four days is not feasible, this is to be explained in the submission cover letter. The migration topic week includes several migration scientific and social events.

Submission |
Researchers desiring to present their work at this meeting are required to submit a complete draft paper (or an extended abstract) by March 11, 2013 using our Online Application Form. Junior researchers should also submit their vitae.
In the case of multiple authors, please indicate the correspondence author who would be presenting the paper. Those invited to present a paper may also be expected to serve as a discussant. Papers should not be published prior to the date of the meeting.
Papers/abstracts must include:
- Title of presentation
- Three to five key words and JEL codes
- Contact person's name, title, organization affiliation, address, telephone, fax number, and email address
- Co-authors names and affiliations
To promote the fullest interchange of ideas among the participants, those invited to present are required to attend all four days of the meeting. Presenters can make their papers available in advance so they can be linked to the preliminary program.

Funding |
|
Travel expenses and accommodation for one author per paper will be covered according to the following IZA reimbursement guidelines. IZA will cover economy airfares and 5 nights of lodging. The migration meeting includes lunches, coffee breaks and two conference dinners. |
